Eco-production
“Ecological emergency”, “climate change”, “climate crisis”. The environmental issue is rightly on the lips of many scientists, politicians and citizens. In the French audiovisual sector, environmental issues have given rise to the term “eco-production”. It’s synonymous with a new awareness in the industry.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS
For its part, the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l’image animée) has also taken part in the action, deciding to introduce “eco-conditionality” for its financial support from 1 January 2024. A provisional carbon footprint will then have to be submitted to the CNC at the production estimate stage. It will have to cover the major areas of energy expenditure. These include transport, accommodation, technical resources, post-production, meals, waste management, etc.
